Summer School of Czech Language 2006-SSCL 2006 is going to start on Monday 21 August. But we will wait for you on Sunday 20 August, an accommodation for Sunday night is booked for you. Please send us an e-mail when you will arrive and to confirm your accommodation booking.
The meeting point – place and time: koleje “Hladnov” (the students hall “Hladnov”), Kranichova ulice 22 (Kranichova street 22), 20th August 2006, 13:00-22:00. There are the students hall behind the “Plus” supermarket. You see the large yellow building.
Summer School will end in the afternoon on Wednesday 13 September. After a short test you can get the certificate. You will departure on Thursday 14 September. The accommodation for the last night is booked as well.
- How to reach Praha-hlavní nádraží (Prague – Main Railway Station)?
You want to go by bus No 119 from Ruzyně Airport to Dejvická (metro Dejvická station, line A), then by metro to Muzeum station. Then you want to change to line C and go to Hlavní nádraží station. The Florenc station (line C) is your station if you want to travel by bus Prague-Ostrava. - After your arrival to Ostrava-hlavní nádraží please take a taxi and go to the student hall “Hladnov”, Kranichova street 22. By bus you can arrive to Ostrava-ÚAN (ústřední autobusové nádraží-Central Bus Station).

+420 800 222 233 (TAXI MORAVA),+420 800 290 000 (TAXI CITY) - If you go by trolleybus please take a trolleybus number 101 or 108, you want to get off at “Dùl Petr Bezruč” trolleybus stop. These trolleybuses are departured from the Ostrava-hlavní nádraží (Ostrava-the main railway station).

- Don´t forget to take two passport photos (for your travelcard), some hiking boots (or some comfortable boots for hiking), some clothes for sport (some old jeans, t-shirt and anorak will be enough), a plastic raincoat, a little rucksack and some swimming costume or swimming trunks. Please take some postcard of Your town and a photo of your friend or family. The first one for our memory book, the second as an teaching aid. And prepare some traditional song or dance, some cassette with traditional music or modern pop music, or some national drink for “Národní večer” (National party) and prepare some short poem or song.
- Price for meal and accommodaton is 300,- EUR. This price will be paid just after your arrival in Ostrava, at the students hall.
After payment for breakfasts, dinners (monday-friday) and accommodation each student will get his overpayment during the 2nd week of SSCL. During the weekends it is posible to visit restaurants, cafés.
- Accommodation: 2 bed rooms with breakfast and lunch at school.
- Before your arrival to Ostrava, in Prague or in your country, please exchange a little amount of money (about 500 CZK – 15 EUR) for the first day, common exchange rate for the euro is 27 – 30 CZK (KČ).
- Prices in Ostrava are very advantageous:
1 beer: 20 CZK, 1 coffee: 15-30 CZK, the railway ticket Ostrava-Prague: 300 CZK, the railway ticket Ostrava-Brno: 200 CZK, a menu at a restaurant: 50-80 CZK, a new t-shirt: about 300-400 CZK, 1 postcard: 5-10 CZK 1 mark abroad: 9 CZK.
